What does CHF 1,120 actually cover?
The private vehicle, the driver and the local guide for the full day, for anyone from one person to eight. Mountain tickets, the carriage, the dairy and the boat are separate and we list them in your quote rather than hiding them in a package price.
Is the ridge walk hard?
No. It is a gentle path along the top, not a hike. Comfortable shoes are enough. If anyone in the group would rather sit it out, there are terraces and restaurants at the top.
Which cities can this start from?
Zurich, Lucerne, Basel, Bern or Interlaken. The price is the same from all five; the driving time is not, so the day is longest from Interlaken.
Is this good for older travellers or kids?
It is one of the better ones for both. The gondola and railway do the climbing, the walk is flat, and the carriage and cheese dairy give children something to do that is not just looking at a view.
When is Rigi at its best?
May to October for the walk and the carriage. Winter is beautiful but the day changes shape — tell us your dates and we will say honestly what will be running.
